Special Train Services Announced for Mahakumbh 2025 & Additional Passenger Trains for Local Routes

Vikas Kumar Ojha, December 26th 2024, Patna: In anticipation of the heavy influx of pilgrims for Mahakumbh 2025, Indian Railways has announced the operation of several special trains. Among these, weekly Mahakumbh Special trains will run between Kanyakumari, Tiruvananthapuram North (Kochuveli), and Gaya to provide convenient travel options for devotees.

Mahakumbh Special Train Details:

1. Train No. 06005/06006 Kanyakumari–Gaya–Kanyakumari Weekly Mahakumbh Special
   • Train No. 06005 (Kanyakumari to Gaya): Departs Kanyakumari at 8:30 PM on January 6 and January 20, 2025 (Mondays), reaching Gaya at 1:30 PM on Thursday.
   • Train No. 06006 (Gaya to Kanyakumari): Departs Gaya at 11:55 PM on January 9 and January 23, 2025 (Thursdays), reaching Kanyakumari at 3:50 AM on Sunday.
   • Key stops: Madurai, Chennai Egmore, Warangal, Jabalpur, Katni, Prayagraj Chheoki, Mirzapur, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Bhabua Road, Sasaram, Dehri-on-Sone.
2. Train No. 06021/06022 Tiruvananthapuram North (Kochuveli)–Gaya Weekly Mahakumbh Special
   • Train No. 06021 (Kochuveli to Gaya): Departs Kochuveli at 2:00 PM on January 7, January 21, and February 4, 2025 (Tuesdays), reaching Gaya at 1:30 PM on Friday.
   • Train No. 06022 (Gaya to Kochuveli): Departs Gaya at 11:55 PM on January 10, January 24, and February 7, 2025 (Fridays), reaching Kochuveli at 10:15 AM on Monday.
   • Key stops: Ernakulam Town, Coimbatore, Vijayawada, Warangal, Gondia, Jabalpur, Katni, Prayagraj Chheoki, Mirzapur, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Bhabua Road, Sasaram, Dehri-on-Sone.

Additional Passenger Special Trains Between Patna, Rajgir, Kiul, and Gaya:

To accommodate local travelers, special passenger trains will operate as follows:

1. Train No. 03201 Rajgir–Patna Fast Passenger Special: Daily service until December 31, 2024.
2. Train No. 03202 Patna–Rajgir Fast Passenger Special: Daily service until December 31, 2024.
3. Train No. 03206 Patna–Kiul Fast Passenger Special: Daily service until December 31, 2024.
4. Train No. 03205 Kiul–Patna Fast Passenger Special: Daily service until December 31, 2024.
5. Train No. 03656 Gaya–Patna Passenger Special: Daily service until December 31, 2024.
6. Train No. 03655 Patna–Gaya Passenger Special: Daily service until December 31, 2024.
7. Train No. 03668 Gaya–Patna Special: Operates on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays until January 7, 2025.
8. Train No. 03667 Patna–Gaya Special: Operates on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays until January 7, 2025.

These measures are part of Indian Railways’ efforts to ensure seamless travel for pilgrims and local commuters during the Mahakumbh festival.
