JDU Aims to Win 225 Assembly Seats in the Upcoming Elections: Minister Ashok Chaudhary

December 08th 2024, Jehanabad, Pawan Kumar: In preparation for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, the Janata Dal (United) [JDU] party has set an ambitious target of winning 225 seats. As part of its election strategy, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is planning a state-wide tour, while local leaders are diligently working to mobilize party workers across their constituencies.

A district-level conference was organized today in Jehanabad where party leaders and workers discussed election strategies. The event was attended by District In-Charge Minister Ashok Chaudhary, Sumit Kumar Singh, JDU leader Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha, newly elected MLA Manorama Devi, among hundreds of party workers.

During his speech, Minister Ashok Chaudhary reflected on the key achievements of Nitish Kumar’s government. Former Chief Ministers Lalu Yadav and Rabri Devi were also harshly criticized by him, saying that during their tenure, Bihar was considered a ‘backward state.’ Chaudhary said that, under Nitish Kumar, Bihar has transformed into one of the leading states in the country.

Chaudhary took a jibe at Tejashwi Yadav’s promise of providing up to 200 units of free electricity by recalling that during the tenure of Tejashwi’s parents, people used to dry clothes on electricity wires. “Such promises. As elections approach, we’re bound to make these grandiose claims in order to give people false hope,” Chaudhary remarked.

Chaudhary did not comment directly on the issue raised by JDU President Lalan Singh regarding the minority community’s support. He said that although the minority community supports them in by-elections, the level of support they receive is not as significant as anticipated.

The Jehanabad conference was part of JDU’s efforts to strengthen its support base ahead of the 2025 Assembly elections. The party has been focusing on boosting voter turnout and aims for a strong performance in the election results.

The party leaders concluded the conference on a positive note as they reiterated their commitment to securing 225 seats for the party, further solidifying its presence in the state.
