Patna, December 17th 2024, Vikas Kumar Ojha: In a significant step towards improving road infrastructure, administrative approval has been granted for the renovation of two major roads in Patna and Bhagalpur districts. The approved projects aim to enhance connectivity and ease traffic flow in these areas.
In Patna, the “Left out of NHAI” stretch from Ch-3.370 to Ch-11.430 (8.06 km) and the Digha Service Lane from Ch-9.570 to Ch-10.550 (0.98 km) will undergo comprehensive upgrades. Similarly, in Bhagalpur, the NH-131B from km 0.800 to km 15.000 (14.2 km) will be renewed under the Improvement of Riding Quality Programme (IRQP).
Deputy Chief Minister and Road Construction Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha stated, “The department is actively identifying and upgrading roads in need of renovation across the state. These approvals are part of our ongoing effort to improve road connectivity in Patna and Bhagalpur districts.”
Patna Road Projects:
- A budget of ₹933.53 lakh has been sanctioned for the Left out of NHAI stretch and Digha Service Lane under the Patna West Road Division.
- The Khagaul-Digha Canal Road, which connects South Bihar to North Bihar via JP Setu, will see significant improvements. This route is crucial as it links several major roads, including NH-139, NH-98 (AIIMS Golambar), Nehru Path, and Bankipur-Danapur Road.
- With heavy traffic due to residential buildings, hospitals, and high-rise developments, the upgrade will ensure smoother and more efficient travel for commuters heading towards North Bihar, AIIMS, Arwal, and Aurangabad.
Bhagalpur Road Projects:
- The NH-131B upgrade has been approved with a budget of ₹910.59 lakh for a total length of 14.20 km.
- The project includes the provision of 40mm Bituminous Concrete (BC) to enhance road quality and durability.
- This route serves as a critical link between NH-80 and NH-31, ensuring safer and smoother travel over the Vikramshila Setu, which is vital for inter-district connectivity.
The road construction initiatives in Patna and Bhagalpur will not only improve travel conditions but also boost regional development by facilitating better transportation infrastructure.
