Police Publicly Announces Property Seizure Action Against Rape Accused

Sheikhpura, Dharmendra Kumar, December 23rd, 2024: The Women’s Police Station in Sheikhpura took a bold step in its pursuit of justice by publicly announcing property seizure proceedings against a rape accused, Ritiraj Chauhan. Using drums to draw attention, officers pasted a legal notice on his residence. This initiative was led by Women’s Police Station Officer-in-Charge Anamika Kumari and Investigating Officer Rishu Kumari, with support from Ariyari Police Station Officer Sunil Kumar Rajvanshi.

Ritiraj Chauhan has been evading arrest for two months after being accused of raping his minor niece. According to police reports, the incident occurred about one and a half months ago when the victim, visiting her village in Sheikhpura from Haryana with her family, was attacked while she was sleeping on her home’s terrace.

The Women’s Police Station Officer highlighted that Ritiraj is not a first-time offender. He has at least six cases filed against him, including charges of murder, rape, and liquor smuggling. Despite multiple attempts to apprehend him, Ritiraj has continued to evade capture, prompting authorities to escalate their actions by initiating property seizure.

As per legal procedure, the police first made public announcements in the village using drums and pasted notices in visible locations. This move attracted significant attention, with local residents gathering to witness the action. Authorities have warned that if the accused does not surrender soon, his property will be confiscated.

The decisive action has sent a strong message to criminals in the region, instilling fear among wrongdoers and reinforcing the police’s commitment to justice and accountability.
