Chief Minister Launches Progress Yatra from Bettiah, Makes Key Announcements

Bettiah,Vikas Kumar Ojha, December 23, 2024: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today launched his Progress Yatra from Bettiah (West Champaran) district and made several important announcements based on the demands of the people and the developmental needs of the region. During the visit, he outlined key projects aimed at improving the local infrastructure and boosting the region’s overall development.

Key Announcements:

  1. New Stadium: The Chief Minister announced that the old stadium in Bettiah will be rebuilt with modern facilities. The new stadium will host state, national, and international-level events, providing a platform for athletes and promoting sports in the region.
  2. Road Widening: The road from Barbat Sena to ITIs, Circuit House, Stadium, Praksha Grih, and Rajkiya Medical College & Hospital will be widened, ensuring smoother travel and reducing traffic congestion, especially for patients.
  3. Increase in Sugarcane Prices: The Chief Minister directed an increase in sugarcane prices by at least ₹20 per quintal. An increase of ₹10 per quintal has already been implemented, and an additional ₹1050 per quintal will be added this season, with the state government covering the cost.
  4. New Degree College: A new Degree College will be opened for students from four blocks located across the Gandak River, to improve access to higher education in these areas.
  5. Bettiah Bypass Construction: The construction of a new bypass road around Bettiah city will be initiated to ease traffic and make transportation more efficient.
  6. Industrial Expansion: The Chief Minister announced the expansion of the industrial sector in Chanpatiya, where work on industrial development is already underway, aiming to provide more employment opportunities.
  7. NH-727A Road Construction: The construction of a road from Madanpur to Paniyawa (U.P.) under NH-727A will reduce the distance between Bagaha and Gorakhpur, improving connectivity.
  8. Road on Two Canals: A road will be constructed from Inarwa to Valmikinagar along the two canals, facilitating easier movement of people.
  9. Electric Power Grid: A new electric power grid will be set up in Amwa Man (Senuwaria)/Rulhi, ensuring a reliable and high-quality power supply for the people of Bettiah.
  10. Love-Kush Park: A Love-Kush Park will be developed in Valmikinagar, promoting tourism and improving the local environment.

With these announcements, the Chief Minister has marked the beginning of a new phase of development in Bettiah and the West Champaran region, aiming to enhance the quality of life for its residents and accelerate the area’s overall progress.
