Durgaavati, Ajit Kumar, December 24th, 2024: A 12-year-old boy tragically lost his life after falling into a well in Ksthari village under the jurisdiction of Durgaavati police station in the Kaimur district. The deceased has been identified as Raja Ansari, the son of Shahid Ansari, aged 12.
According to reports, on the evening of Monday, Raja was returning home on his bicycle, carrying fresh coriander in his hand. While riding near a well in the village, his bicycle lost control and he fell into the well along with the cycle. When Raja failed to return home, his family began searching for him. Despite their extensive search, they could not locate him, which led to growing concern.
The family continued searching the area throughout the night. The breakthrough came the following day when they noticed fresh coriander floating in the water of the well. Suspecting that Raja might have fallen there, they immediately began searching the well. After about 24 hours, they discovered the child’s body along with his bicycle.
The family was overwhelmed with grief and shock upon finding the body, and cries of sorrow echoed through the village. Upon receiving the information, the Durgaavati police arrived at the scene and took the body into custody for the necessary post-mortem procedures.
Muralhuda Ansari, a villager, shared the details of the tragic incident, explaining that Raja had been sent to deliver coriander to his home, but lost control of his cycle and fell into the well. No one witnessed the fall. The family had searched extensively but had no luck until the following day, when the discovery of the coriander in the well led them to the tragic finding.
Durgaavati Police Station In-charge Girish Kumar confirmed that the body had been sent for post-mortem and the necessary formalities were being completed. The incident has deeply saddened the local community.
