Motihari, 19th of December 2024, Dharmendra Kumar: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Motihari police have seized 280 kilograms of cannabis based on a tip-off. Acting on the orders of Motihari SP Swarn Prabhat, the raid was conducted under the supervision of Raxaul DSP by the Ramgarhwa police.
The contraband was discovered hidden inside a storage area (gawas) in Belhiya village of Ramgarhwa. The seized cannabis is estimated to be worth approximately ₹1 crore in the international market.
Speaking on the matter, SP Swarn Prabhat said that the operation was launched after receiving confidential information. The cannabis was packed into 20 packets and concealed by the suspect, identified as Munaf Miyan, who is now in custody.
The police are intensively interrogating the suspect to uncover further details regarding the supply chain and those involved in the drug network. This seizure is seen as a major step in the fight against drug trafficking in the region.
