Patna, Suman Kumari (Editor-in-Chief) News Life Network, 2nd February 2026: The Advocate Association organized a grand and dignified welcome ceremony in honour of Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo, the 47th Chief Justice of the Patna High Court. On this occasion, all 38 Hon’ble Judges of the Patna High Court were also formally welcomed. The event reflected strong, cordial, and positive relations between the judiciary and the Bar.

The ceremony was held under the leadership of Advocate Association President Salendra Singh. Secretary General Jai Shankar Prasad, Vice President Chhaya Mishra, along with office bearers of the Advocate Association and a large number of advocate members, were present at the event.
The occasion was further enriched by the gracious presence of Bihar State Bar Council Chairman Ramakant Sharma, Advocate General of Bihar Prashant Kumar Shahi (P.K. Shahi), and Additional Advocate Generals Prabhat Kumar Verma, Anjani Kumar, and S. Raza Ahmed, adding to the significance of the ceremony.

Addressing the gathering, Advocate Association President Salendra Singh stated that the leadership of Chief Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo has proved to be guiding and inspiring for the Patna High Court. He noted that the Chief Justice is widely recognized for judicial transparency, discipline, time-bound justice, and institutional reforms, which have continuously strengthened the faith of both the legal fraternity and the general public in the judiciary.
Secretary General Jai Shankar Prasad emphasized that the Advocate Association has always worked in coordination with the judiciary to make the justice delivery system more effective and people-centric. He reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to strengthening dialogue and cooperation between the Bar and the Bench.
Vice President Chhaya Mishra described Chief Justice Sangam Sahoo as a firm yet compassionate judge whose approach is rooted in justice as well as human values. She observed that under his leadership, positive changes are being witnessed in judicial work culture.
Speaking on the occasion, Advocate General Prashant Kumar Shahi and Bihar State Bar Council Chairman Ramakant Sharma highlighted that cooperation between the judiciary and the advocate community is the foundation of a strong and effective justice system.

In his address, Chief Justice Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo expressed gratitude to the Advocate Association and the Bar Council, stating that advocates are the backbone of the justice delivery system. He expressed confidence that with continued cooperation between the Bar and the Bench, the judiciary can be made more transparent, efficient, and worthy of public trust.
The ceremony concluded with a collective resolve to uphold judicial values, transparency, and unwavering commitment to the Constitution.
