Mithilesh Kumar, Rohtas, May 15th 2026: Hundreds of consumers created an uproar at the Athkhambhwa HP Gas Agency in Sasaram on Friday after alleged delays in LPG cylinder distribution forced people to wait for hours in extreme heat.
According to local residents, long queues began forming early in the morning as nearly 400 LPG cylinders were scheduled for distribution. However, even by around 10:30 AM, the distribution process had reportedly not started, leading to anger and frustration among consumers.
People standing in line alleged that a truck loaded with gas cylinders was already present inside the agency premises, yet the supply was deliberately delayed. Women, elderly citizens and consumers who had travelled from distant villages faced the worst hardship while waiting under the scorching sun.
Several consumers claimed they had been standing in line since early morning but still failed to receive cylinders on time. As tempers flared, angry consumers raised slogans inside the agency premises and accused the agency management of negligence and possible black marketing.
Residents said repeated irregularities in LPG distribution were severely affecting household work and causing unnecessary suffering to common people. Many demanded immediate intervention by the administration to ensure transparency and timely supply of cylinders.
Local consumers have urged authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly and take strict action against those responsible so that such incidents are not repeated in the future.
