Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visits Patliputra Sports Complex.
Vikas Kumar Ojha, Patna, December 7, 2024: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted a surprise inspection of the Patliputra Sports Complex this evening. He toured the entire outdoor stadium, the indoor stadium, and the Khelo India Center of Excellence. Ravindran Shankaran, Director-General of the Bihar State Sports Authority, briefed the Chief Minister in detail about the stadium’s facilities. Additionally, the Chief Minister interacted with athletes who were practicing weightlifting and other sports, motivating them.
It is worth mentioning that the Chief Minister will also inaugurate the world’s largest sports talent search competition, ‘Mashal’, at the Patliputra Sports Complex on 9th December, aimed at identifying sports talent from government school students. Additionally, for the first time in Bihar, the Khelo India Youth Games will be held in April 2025. Both the Rajgir Sports Complex and Patliputra Sports Complex are being upgraded for this event. In this context, the Chief Minister today visited the venues and directed the concerned officials to ensure the smooth conduct of national and international competitions at these venues.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was accompanied by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Secretary Kumar Ravi, Director-General of the Bihar State Sports Authority Ravindran Shankaran, Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh, and Director of the Sports Department Mahendra Kumar.
