Kaimur, December 20th, 2024, Ajit Kumar: In a horrific incident, a father in Kaimur, under the influence of alcohol, committed an inhumane act by murdering his 14-year-old son. The intoxicated man strangled his son to death, mutilated several body parts with a knife, and gouged out one of his eyes. The incident took place in Akhlaspur village under the jurisdiction of Bhabhua Police Station.
The victim, identified as Azad Dom, was the son of Vinod Dom. Upon receiving information, the police arrived at the scene, conducted a preliminary investigation, and sent the body for post-mortem to Sadar Hospital. The father fled the scene after the crime, leaving the villagers and authorities in shock.
The victim’s mother, in her statement, revealed that her husband was an habitual alcoholic who often subjected the family to physical abuse. On the night of the incident, he had beaten the family members and driven them out of the house. The mother took her elder son to a relative’s house, leaving behind Azad, who was physically challenged, believing the father would not harm him.
The next morning, she was informed about the heinous act. Upon reaching home, she found her son’s lifeless body, and the accused had escaped. The mother immediately informed the police, prompting an investigation.
Senior officials, including SP Lalit Mohan Sharma and SDPO Shiv Shankar Kumar, visited the site to supervise the investigation. The police are now conducting raids to apprehend the accused father.

“The investigation has revealed that the accused was a habitual alcoholic who often engaged in domestic violence. The crime was committed under the influence of alcohol. Efforts are underway to arrest the accused, and we are also investigating the sources of alcohol supply in the area.”
The incident has once again highlighted the loopholes in enforcing the state’s liquor prohibition laws, raising questions about the accessibility of alcohol and the need for stricter enforcement measures. The police have assured swift action against the perpetrator and further investigation into the case.
