Mithilesh Kumar, Rohtas, 24th April 2026: A tragic accident occurred in Mednipur village under Sasaram subdivision of Rohtas district on Friday when a hut caught fire and a collapsing wall left four people seriously injured, including a husband and wife.
According to local residents, the fire reportedly broke out after sparks from cooking ignited the thatched structure, causing flames to spread rapidly through the hut.
As family members and villagers rushed to extinguish the fire, an old mud wall of the house suddenly collapsed.
The falling debris, combined with the spreading flames, seriously injured Lalbabu Sharma, his wife Parvati Devi, along with Radhika Devi and Taregan Devi.
Villagers acted swiftly to control the blaze and rescue the injured trapped under the debris. All four victims were rushed to the Sadar Hospital in Sasaram for treatment.
Doctors said the condition of the injured remains critical.
The incident has left the village in shock, with family members and residents praying for the victims’ speedy recovery.
