Patna, Vikas Kumar Ojha, December 23rd 2024: The 82nd meeting of the Regional Railway Official Language Implementation Committee was held today at the East Central Railway headquarters in Hajipur under the chairmanship of General Manager Chatrasal Singh.
In his address, the General Manager highlighted that East Central Railway has been awarded the prestigious Rail Minister’s Official Language Shield for its exceptional work in promoting Hindi during 2023. He congratulated the officers and staff of the Official Language Department for this achievement and emphasized the significance of Hindi not only as a language of communication but also as a binding force that unites the nation. “Language development and preservation is a vital responsibility. As a commercial organization deeply connected to the common people, we must communicate in their language. Using Hindi is not just a constitutional obligation and national duty, but also a necessity for effective engagement,” he remarked.
On this occasion, the General Manager presented the Inter-Departmental Official Language Rolling Shield to the Security Department for its exemplary efforts in promoting Hindi. Principal Chief Security Commissioner Amresh Kumar received the award. The General Manager also released the 29th edition of the magazine Vaishali and the 6th edition of the official language bulletin East Central Rail Darpan.
The meeting saw participation from officials of divisions and workshops of East Central Railway. Notable performers for the quarter ending September 2024 were Assistant Personnel Officer Prabhat Kumar and Chief Commercial Inspector Manish Kumar, both from the Hajipur division. They were honored with cash prizes and certificates of appreciation by the General Manager.
Speaking at the event, Additional General Manager Amrendra Kumar emphasized the increasing role of Hindi across fields, including information technology. “As Hindi continues to expand and enrich itself, our responsibilities grow as well. We should ensure that our work is conducted in Hindi and encourage others to do the same,” he said.
Chief Official Language Officer Vijay Kumar shared his enthusiasm over Hindi’s expanding scope and reiterated the need to execute tasks in the language with simplicity and ease.
Deputy Chief Official Language Officer and Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer (Planning) Manish Kumar, while conducting the meeting, stressed the importance of mutual cooperation in the promotion of Hindi. Official Language Officer Anil Kumar Sharma reviewed the quarter ending September 2024 and briefed the participants about the progress and challenges.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Anil Kumar Sharma.
