Grand Event on ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ Held in Patna

A grand function on the theme “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – One World, One Family” was conducted on Friday at one of Patna’s elite institutions, St. Michael’s High School. The theme brought to the forefront the shared human spirit and the importance of unity in diversity.
The program started with the welcome of the chief guest Shri Sunil Kumar Yadav (IAS), distinguished guest Dr. Manish Mandal, and special guest Dr. Bhanu Pratap. The school band presented a Guard of Honor to the dignitaries, who were also honored with bouquets and plants. After the lamp-lighting ceremony, the audience was mesmerized by a prayer dance and a sweet welcome song.
In his welcome address, he underlined the necessity and importance of the concept “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,” emphasizing the message for compassion, cooperation, and international unity. According to Father A. Kristu Savirajan S.J., education not only instills knowledge but also frees young minds for peaceful living and coexistence.
The award distribution ceremony was an occasion to honor students who achieved academic excellence and were bestowed with special honors. Both the students and teachers received accolades from the chief guest, while appreciating the management and leadership of the principal, which has taken St. Michael’s to new heights of excellence.
The highlight was a dance drama based on “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” highlighting the plight of refugees and the importance of compassion. This performance moved the audience profoundly, and the message that resonated was about global brotherhood.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by the vice-principal and the national anthem. The event successfully conveyed the message of unity in diversity and left all attendees inspired by this thoughtful message.
