Patna, December 16th 2024, Vikas Kumar Ojha: Bihar Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (BIPARD) hosted an inter-departmental consultation workshop to prepare the ‘Bihar Vision Document @2047.’ The event, held at Hotel Taj, Patna, saw participation from representatives of over 30 state departments. The workshop provided a platform for various departments to share a collective vision for Bihar’s development journey.
The event was graced by over 60 dignitaries and representatives, including BIPARD Director General K.K. Pathak and General Administration Department Principal Secretary Dr. B. Rajendra. Addressing the gathering, K.K. Pathak emphasized the importance of teamwork and a unified vision, stating, “This workshop is a significant step toward building a prosperous and developed Bihar by 2047. Bihar’s progress is only possible through collaborative efforts of all departments.”
Dr. B. Rajendra echoed this sentiment, remarking, “The Bihar @2047 Vision Document will not only articulate the aspirations of the state but also address key challenges. Our collective efforts will pave the way for a future that is sustainable, inclusive, and transformative.”
The workshop focused on fostering coordination and collaboration among departments to prepare an integrated vision for the state’s development. Representatives from various departments presented their departmental goals and strategies for 2047. Discussions also identified key developmental challenges and explored ways to optimize existing resources within the state.

Through interactive sessions and activities, participants shared their perspectives and suggested taglines for the theme “Developed Bihar 2047.”
Representing the Rural Development Department, MGNREGA Commissioner Abhilasha Sharma presented a vision centered on social empowerment and environmental sustainability. Agriculture Secretary Sanjay Agrawal emphasized enhancing agricultural productivity, adopting innovative practices, and integrating technology to strengthen the rural economy and position Bihar as a leader in agribusiness.
The workshop concluded with a consensus that achieving Bihar’s developmental goals by 2047 would require coordinated efforts from all departments. While each department’s vision is significant, their unified approach will ensure holistic and impactful growth for the state.
The ‘Bihar @2047 Vision Document,’ encapsulating these efforts and aspirations, is set to be officially released by Bihar’s Honorable Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on January 26, 2025. This document will serve as a transformative roadmap toward Bihar’s bright future, outlining strategies to boost infrastructure development, economic progress, education and skill enhancement, and social inclusion.
