Is Katihar Police Failing to Ensure Public Safety?

Patna, 10th December 2024, Vikas Kumar Ojha: A disturbing incident occurred on Sunday evening in Katihar, raising grave doubts about the law and order situation in the district. A man returning from his workplace was attacked and seriously injured by unknown robbers.

38-year-old Ainul Haq, an employee of Suraj Transport near Katihar Women’s College, was returning home to Mirkanha village in Mansahi. The criminals intercepted him at a place close to Hawamahal Haflaganj and mercilessly assaulted him. They stabbed his face with a knife. Later, they escaped, taking away ₹1,000 from him.
Locals discovered Ainul Haq on the street, injured and rushed him to Mansahi Primary Health Center. He has been shifted from there to Katihar Sadar Hospital and then to a medical college as the injuries were severe. He is in a critical state.


Police Reaction:
Katihar SP Vaibhav Sharma, in a statement to News Life, said:
“The Mansahi PS SHO has been directed to take immediate action and register a case. The police are analyzing CCTV footage to identify the accused, and they will be apprehended soon.”
