Liquor Hidden Under Milk Trays Seized in Bagaha; Police Bust ‘Milk Supply’ Smuggling Racket

Bagaha, Deepak Kumar, April 27th 2026:Police in Bihar’s Bagaha have busted an innovative liquor smuggling operation in which traffickers allegedly used a milk delivery vehicle to conceal a large consignment of foreign liquor beneath stacked milk trays.

The seizure was made at the Rehuwa check post after police became suspicious of a three-wheeler goods vehicle posing as a routine milk supply carrier.

During inspection, officers discovered that the milk trays were being used as cover for hidden liquor cartons. A total of 35 cartons of foreign liquor, amounting to approximately 302.4 litres, were recovered from the vehicle.

According to police, the smugglers had planned to use the “milk supply route” to distribute liquor across local neighborhoods while avoiding suspicion.

Two accused have been arrested in connection with the case — identified as Vyas Prasad of Siwan and Amar Singh of Uttar Pradesh.

Bagaha in-charge SP Nirmala Kumari said legal proceedings have been initiated against both accused and further investigation is underway to trace the wider network behind the smuggling operation.

Police said the seizure highlights the increasingly sophisticated methods being adopted by liquor traffickers to evade enforcement in dry-state Bihar.
