Road and Infrastructure Development

CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates and Lays Foundation Stones for Projects Worth ₹241 Crore in Jehanabad
During his Pragati Yatra visit to Jehanabad, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 88 projects worth ₹241.20 crore. Of these, ₹154.72 crore was allocated to 55 completed projects, while ₹86.48 crore was earmarked for 33 upcoming initiatives.
One of the major highlights was the inauguration of the Rajkiya Anya Pichhda Varg Aawasiya Balika 10+2 Uchch Vidyalaya in Dharhara, built at a cost of ₹46.35 crore. The Chief Minister interacted with students, encouraging them to focus on their studies.
Additionally, CM Nitish Kumar visited departmental stalls showcasing various welfare schemes, including the Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana, Student Credit Card Scheme, and Jeevika Self-Help Groups. He distributed symbolic cheques worth ₹136 crore under the Bihar Laghu Udyami Yojana and ₹4 crore under the Satat Jeevikoparjan Yojana, benefiting 811 self-help groups.
The Gandhi Park, built under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali scheme at a cost of ₹13.90 lakh, was also inaugurated. CM Kumar directed officials to further enhance its facilities, including boating arrangements.
He inspected Kaji Sarai’s Upgraded Plus Two School, inaugurated a sports ground, and met with NCC cadets, encouraging them to excel in academics and sports.
Furthermore, CM Kumar reviewed the Arwal Mor ROB site and the proposed Indoor Badminton Stadium-cum-Sports Complex at Malhachak. He also met local players, boosting their morale by presenting them with signed basketballs.
CM Inaugurates and Lays Foundation Stones for ₹111 Crore Projects in Arwal
Continuing his Pragati Yatra, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 144 projects worth ₹111 crore in Arwal district.
The CM inaugurated the Mahaveerganj Sluice Gate and Canal Renovation Project, completed at a cost of ₹3.80 crore. This project will significantly improve irrigation for local farmers, enhancing agricultural productivity.
Under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Yojana, he inspected the Belkhara Ahra-Pain Irrigation Project, which has been restored at a cost of ₹1.80 crore, benefiting 300 hectares of farmland across three villages. Additionally, a newly renovated Chhath Ghat was inaugurated.
The CM also inaugurated the Government Degree College in Arwal, constructed at a cost of ₹5.04 crore. During his visit, he noted that 80% of students enrolled in the college are female, underscoring the government’s focus on women’s education.
A new rural park in Belkhara, developed at a cost of ₹14.97 lakh, was also opened. CM Kumar emphasized that the park, temple, and Chhath Ghat together create a serene and culturally significant environment for the locals.

During his visit to the Jeevika self-help group stalls, the CM praised the women for their entrepreneurial success. He recalled how, in 2006, Bihar had very few self-help groups, prompting his government to expand the initiative with World Bank assistance. Today, Bihar boasts 1.36 crore Jeevika Didis, including 3.5 lakh urban members.
CM Kumar also inspected the site for the proposed 4.45 km Arwal Bus Stand to Baidrabad Road, which will serve 50,000 residents and improve access for traders.
