Bagaha, Deepak Kumar, 11th April 2026: In a significant crackdown on illegal liquor smuggling, a joint team of Ramnagar Police and LTF conducted a raid and recovered a large quantity of foreign liquor in Bagaha. Acting on a tip-off that a consignment was being transported from Uttar Pradesh into Bihar via train, the team launched a swift operation in Arya Nagar area.
During the raid, police seized two large suitcases and one backpack containing 92 bottles (750 ml each) of liquor, totaling around 69 litres, with an estimated value running into lakhs. One accused, identified as 22-year-old Ram Lakhan Kumar, a resident of Chaurasia Nagar under Ramnagar Nagar Parishad, was arrested on the spot.
However, two other smugglers managed to escape, and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend them. The successful operation has created a sense of fear among liquor smugglers in the region, while police have intensified further investigation into the network.
