Rohtas, Mithilesh Kumar, 11th April 2026: A devastating fire incident has been reported from Basdiha village under Kargahar police station area in Rohtas district, where a massive blaze destroyed over 100 bigha of standing wheat crop, causing huge losses to farmers.
According to initial reports, the fire broke out due to a short circuit and quickly spread across the fields. Strong hot winds further intensified the flames, allowing the fire to engulf nearby area within minutes. Visuals from the scene show raging flames as farmers desperately tried to save their crops.
Upon receiving information, fire brigade teams rushed to the spot and are continuing efforts to bring the situation under control. However, by the time firefighting operations began, a large portion of the crop had already been reduced to ashes.
Farmers are feared to have suffered losses worth lakhs of rupees due to the incident. The blaze has once again raised concerns among farmers, especially during the ongoing summer season when such incidents become more frequent.
Authorities are currently working to fully douse the fire, while affected farmers await relief and compensation for their losses.
