Sitamarhi, December 23, 2024, Anand Bihari Singh: A tragic incident in Usrahiya village under Riga police station in Sitamarhi has left a family shattered. Over a long-standing land dispute, an uncle and grandmother allegedly poisoned two children, resulting in the death of 7-year-old Kriti Kumari, while her 6-year-old brother Krish Kumar remains in critical condition at a hospital.
According to reports, the dispute involved Rita Devi, wife of Mukesh Sah, and her brother Kamlesh Sah, along with their mother, Sita Devi. On Monday, while Rita Devi had gone to collect grass, Kamlesh Sah and Sita Devi allegedly took the opportunity to poison her two children.
The horrifying incident came to light when the children were rushed to the hospital. Despite medical efforts, Kriti succumbed to the poisoning during treatment, while Krish continues to fight for his life.
Sitamarhi Sadar DSP Ram Krishna, who visited the scene, stated that all angles of the case are being thoroughly investigated. Statements from all concerned parties are being recorded to ascertain the sequence of events.
This shocking incident has left the local community in disbelief, as a familial relationship was tarnished by a bitter property dispute, leading to such a heinous crime. The police are working to gather evidence and ensure justice for the victims.
