Rohtas, Mithilesh Kumar, May 6th 2026: A sensational alleged kidnapping case in Rohtas took a dramatic turn after police investigation revealed that the missing woman had allegedly staged her own abduction.
According to ASP-cum-SDPO Dehri-1 Atulesh Jha, the woman, a resident of Maneri Bigha under Dalmianagar police station limits, had left home for college on the morning of April 28 but went missing later in the day.
Soon after, her brother received a text message from her phone claiming:
“I have been kidnapped and am being kept in Sasaram.”
The message triggered panic in the family, who immediately informed Dalmianagar police. Considering the seriousness of the matter, Rohtas SP Roshan Kumar constituted a special team to investigate.
Following technical surveillance and continuous raids, police traced and recovered the woman from Dehri Railway Station within hours.
During questioning, she allegedly confessed that no kidnapping had taken place and that she herself had sent the message to her brother from her phone to fabricate the story.
She reportedly told police that she was under family stress and disturbed by the home environment, and staged the incident in anger to trouble her family.
Police confirmed that no criminal act was committed against the woman.
Further legal action is being taken in the matter.
