Katihar, 8th April 2026, Tajim Hussain: Tensions have surfaced in Manihari after villagers and parents raised serious allegations against an Anganwadi worker at a centre in Bairgachhi under Kumari Pur Panchayat.
Allegations of Negligence and Irregularities
Residents claim that the Anganwadi centre in Ward No. 17 is not being run as per norms, affecting children’s education, nutrition, and overall care. Locals have accused the worker of negligence, arbitrary functioning, and even issuing threats when complaints are raised.
Sensitive Allegations Raise Tension
In a written complaint submitted to the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), villagers have also made serious social allegations, claiming that attempts were being made to influence members of the tribal community under the guise of Anganwadi activities. These claims have led to a tense atmosphere in the village.
Demand for Strict Action
Villagers and guardians have demanded a fair and thorough investigation, urging authorities to take strict legal action if the allegations are proven. They have also called for the immediate removal of the concerned worker if found guilty.

The CDPO office has confirmed receipt of the complaint and stated that an investigation will be conducted, with appropriate action to follow as per rules.
