Begusarai, December 9, 2024, Jeevesh Tarun: In a major development, STF and Begusarai Police exposed a mini gun factory operating at Singhaul police station area. Acting on a tip-off, the authorities raided a location in Ulaw, and they recovered large quantities of semi-constructed firearms and equipment used in weapon manufacturing. The operator of the factory, who has been identified as Chano Sharma, was arrested during the operation.
Raid Details:
Sadar DSP Subodh Kumar revealed that STF had received confidential information about a mini gun factory working in the Ulaw area. Acting on this intelligence, STF and local police launched a joint operation, surrounding the area and conducting a raid. In the raid, it was found that the factory was fully operational, and Sharma was taken into custody.
The authorities unearthed a significant amount of almost fully assembled guns, lathe machines, and other machinery used in manufacturing from the place. Investigations further reveal that Chano Sharma had earlier been arrested in 2010 for running the same illegal factory at this location. After spending jail time, he allegedly again continued his nefarious work.
Criminal Record of the Accused:
DSP Subodh Kumar said that Sharma has been involved in many cases which were registered against him at Singhaul police station. Investigations prove that he was the mastermind who continued the illegal gun manufacturing in that region.
Recovered Materials:
During the search of Sharma’s house, the police seized more equipment such as half-made guns and advanced tools for making weapons. DSP Kumar said that the case was serious as the recovered items reflect the importance of continued vigilance against illegal arms manufacturing.

Addressing the media, DSP Subodh Kumar said this successful operation establishes the effectiveness of co-ordination between the STF and local police in deracinizing such criminal activities. The officer assured that such acts to destroy will not stop.
