Begusarai, 22nd December 2024, Jivesh Tarun: In a shocking incident, the body of a woman, brutally murdered and stuffed in a sack, was discovered in a waterlogged pit in the Matihani police station area of Sitarampur Diyara, Begusarai. The victim has been identified as Sita Devi, wife of Jugi Mahto, a resident of Sitarampur village.
According to the bereaved husband, Sita Devi had been missing for 15 days. Despite extensive searches and filing a missing person report with the Matihani police, her whereabouts remained unknown until Saturday evening. The police recovered her body from a waterlogged pit in Sitarampur Diyara.
Jugi Mahto suspects foul play and has alleged that a local villager with whom he had a land dispute orchestrated the murder. He claims his wife was killed in a cold-blooded manner before her body was disposed of in the pit.
This gruesome discovery has sent shockwaves through the locality, with family members devastated by the tragic loss. Meanwhile, the police have launched an investigation into the matter to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the murder and bring the culprits to justice.
